Dr. Diane Lazard is Head of the ENT Department at the Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco. Together with her team, she is advancing cutting-edge ENT surgery for conditions involving hearing loss, rhinosinusitis, vocal disorders and cervical conditions.
She holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the École Normale Supérieure in Paris and has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Neurosciences in Montpellier, the Institute of the Brain and Spinal Cord in Paris and the Bionics Institute in Melbourne, Australia.
Her research specialises in brain plasticity induced by hearing loss and the neural networks involved in maintaining oral communication despite hearing impairment. Her latest work explores audiovisual cooperation (the integration of lip-reading and acoustic cues) in people with hearing loss. She has many publications, including in the journal Nature.
